 
The Metropolitan Theatre
The historic Metropolitan Theatre, located in Morgantown, West Virginia, opened July 24, 1924, after a two-and-a-half year construction process. A balcony complements the gracious single-floor auditorium. Measuring 72 feet by 143 feet, the theatre has two storefronts on the ground floor and a pool room in the basement.
The front of the building boasts fluted concrete Ionic order pilasters with egg-and-dart detail in the Classical Revival style. Nearing its ninetieth birthday, the theatre continues to be home to Morgantown’s best live entertainment. The Met was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
